The Exploration Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) activities for Nyx Earth, an innovative aerospace vehicle. You will report to the Chief Program Officer and be responsible for ensuring the vehicle is safely integrated, thoroughly tested, and prepared for launch on schedule and within budget.
Key responsibilities include managing the AIT project with strategic direction and oversight; defining objectives, scope, deliverables, and milestones; and building an effective operating rhythm across engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, operations, and launch services. You will support AIT strategy including integration sequence, verification approach, and test philosophy. This involves coordinating subsystem integration, software integration, ground support equipment, and facility coordination. You will plan and manage functional, performance, environmental, and mission-level testing, ensuring proper review and closure of test results and anomalies.
Facility and resource management is critical: you will define and secure required facilities, tooling, test equipment, and ground support equipment; coordinate facility readiness and launch-site preparation; and develop and manage the AIT budget and resource plan. You will develop detailed AIT schedules with clear milestones and dependencies, monitor progress, identify delays and critical-path risks early, and lead recovery plans when issues arise.
Cross-functional collaboration is essential. You will coordinate teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, safety, and external partners, providing transparent reporting to leadership and establishing clear decision-making and change-control processes. Risk, quality, and safety management includes identifying and assessing AIT risks, managing non-conformances and corrective actions, and ensuring proper control and traceability of hardware, software, and documentation. You will also monitor supplier readiness, define acceptance criteria, and lead supplier recovery actions.
The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering. You bring 6+ years of project or program management experience, with proven expertise in AIT, system integration, verification, or test campaign leadership on complex spacecraft, launch vehicles, or safety-critical hardware. Strong technical background in spacecraft AIT and requirements verification is essential, along with experience in environmental testing, test facilities, and launch-site activities. You demonstrate excellence in budget management, resource allocation, schedule control, and risk mitigation. Superior supplier-management and problem-solving skills, combined with excellent leadership and communication abilities, are required. Frequent travel across Europe is expected.
