Aspora is a borderless financial operating system founded in 2022, backed by Sequoia Capital, Greylock Partners, Y Combinator and others. The company serves globally mobile users (NRIs) with cross-border financial services across India, UK, UAE, EU and US.
You will own Aisha, Aspora's next-generation AI finance agent, completely: product strategy, roadmap, team building, and results. You report directly to the CEO and partner closely with compliance, legal, and payments teams across multiple jurisdictions. You make the critical decisions on what to build, buy, or partner on, and determine when the agent is ready for production use with real customer money.
Aspora has already built the foundational rails (licenses, bank partnerships, live corridors). Your mandate is to build the intelligence layer—an AI agent that NRIs will trust with real financial tasks. This is a founder-track role with significant autonomy and scope.
Key responsibilities:
- Own Aisha end-to-end from early build through production, handling real money transactions
- Shape the agent stack: select models, orchestration tools, data connections, and payment rails
- Make reliability a core product feature: design evals, guardrails, and failure-mode handling
- Drive consumer-grade UX: own onboarding, activation, retention; conduct ~100 user research sessions weekly
- Build the founding team: hire senior engineers first, then design and data talent
- Navigate regulated financial services: partner with compliance and legal to enable safe money movement
You will define what trustworthy AI finance agents look like and own the outcome.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven track record building consumer products people rely on daily (founder or product lead experience)
- Shipped AI systems in production: hands-on experience with evals, orchestration, tool use, and failure modes
- Money-grade judgment: either worked in regulated financial services or demonstrated ability to learn regulated domains quickly
- Lead by doing: stay close to product and code to make calls yourself
- Track record of moving quickly with increasing trust and scope
- Tested under pressure: navigated failed launches, company challenges, or regulatory obstacles and made sound decisions
- Commitment to proving AI can be trusted with people's money
