Orange EV is a fast-growing manufacturer of electric vehicles. As the AI Platform Engineer, you will be the first engineer on the AI Solutions team, responsible for building and operating the foundational infrastructure that enables the company to deploy, run, and trust AI applications and agents in production. You will design and operate hosting, networking, identity, secrets management, and monitoring for internally built applications, dashboards, and AI agents. You will build and maintain data pipelines between Microsoft Fabric and systems of record (ERP, CRM, telematics), managing refresh cadence, lineage, and ownership. You own the CI/CD pipeline for internally built software, including repositories, review gates, automated tests, and production promotion. A critical part of this role is defining and enforcing guardrails for AI-assisted development: determining what an AI agent may generate, what requires human review, what can reach production, and how success is measured. You will implement comprehensive access control including single sign-on, role-based access, secrets management, and audit trails. You will operate the toolchain the team uses, including AI coding agents like Claude Code, evaluation harnesses, and shared libraries. You will transform one-off deployments into repeatable, scalable patterns through templates, infrastructure as code, and documented processes that other engineers can follow independently. You will monitor cost, performance, and reliability of deployed workloads and report on all three. You will partner with IT on network, identity, and endpoint decisions rather than working around them. As the first platform engineer on this team, the standards and patterns you establish will define how all future infrastructure work is built. QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent working experience - Minimum 5+ years in platform, DevOps, data, or infrastructure engineering - Hands-on Azure experience across identity, networking, and application hosting - Production CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent - Strong SQL, plus Python or PowerShell for automation - Experience building and operating data pipelines that other people depend on - Practical experience running AI coding agents inside a controlled workflow, with a point of view on what they may and may not do unsupervised - Able to write standards clearly enough that another engineer follows them without a meeting - Wants to grow as an AI-assisted engineer: you already use these tools to do your own work faster and want to improve IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL ALSO HAVE: - Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, or Databricks experience in production - Infrastructure as code with Terraform or Bicep - Containers in production: Docker with Azure Container Apps, App Service, or Kubernetes - Experience integrating with an ERP, MES, or telematics platform - Background as the first or only platform engineer on a small team - Manufacturing or field service exposure
