ShipMonk is a tech-powered 3PL (third-party logistics) and growth partner for ecommerce brands, operating 12+ fulfillment centers across the US, Canada, UK, and Europe. The company processes 100,000+ orders per day at peak season and serves 1,500+ merchants. The product platform is built by the Product Development team in Prague.
You will be one of the first builders in a newly created AI domain, working as a hands-on internal technical consultant. Your role bridges AI/data capabilities with business teams across HR, Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify AI opportunities within business teams and translate vague requests into scoped, actionable projects
- Rapidly prototype AI solutions using modern AI coding tools, then harden and deploy proven concepts to production
- Build data infrastructure: construct pipelines into Snowflake and develop clean data models using dbt
- Ship production AI solutions including agents, RAG assistants, and automations with evaluation frameworks to validate effectiveness
- Integrate AI tools with existing company systems: Slack, CRM, ticketing systems, n8n, and MCP
- Lead AI enablement across the organization through workshops, office hours, and reusable templates
- Measure adoption metrics and iterate based on feedback
You will work from the Karlín office in Prague within a small, high-autonomy team with direct access to leadership. Your users are colleagues across the company, allowing you to see impact within weeks.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on engineering experience in product, startup, solutions, or data teams
- Proven ability to build and deploy AI-first applications to production (deployed, secured, monitored, and used by real people)
- Experience building data infrastructure: at least one pipeline or data model that real users relied on
- Strong Python and SQL skills
- Daily hands-on work with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar)
- Comfortable working with business users, owning problems from ideation through adoption, and demonstrating impact quantitatively
- Enthusiasm for experimenting with new AI tools and teaching others how to use them
Nice to Have:
- Snowflake, dbt, Airflow experience
- Pydantic AI, Langfuse, or similar AI framework experience
- TypeScript or Streamlit for building quick internal front ends
