Spiko is a fintech infrastructure company founded in 2023 that provides institutional-grade cash management solutions to businesses, non-profits, financial advisers, and fintechs via app or API. Backed by Index Ventures and founded by former leaders from Revolut, Kyriba, and Wise, Spiko serves thousands of organizations across Europe and processes hundreds of millions of euros in flows monthly.
You will join as AI & Data Lead, taking ownership of Spiko's AI and data initiatives within the tech team while working cross-functionally across the entire company. Your mission is to supercharge Spiko with AI and build the AI and data team around you as the company scales.
Key responsibilities include:
• Embed AI into Spiko's product to enhance the cash management experience for CFOs—enabling users to automate deposits and withdrawals, run operations via natural language prompts, and allow AI agents to query positions and perform transactions programmatically through a Spiko MCP server.
• Empower every team (legal, sales, marketing, ops) to leverage AI in their daily workflows, such as providing customer support with AI-assisted drafting and response capabilities.
• Maintain state-of-the-art AI-assisted software engineering practices by owning tooling, practices, and infrastructure that make AI a force multiplier for the entire tech team.
• Own the data platform, evolving and maintaining analytics infrastructure (BigQuery, Datastream, Metabase) that makes production data accessible to non-technical teams and supporting data initiatives built on top.
The tech stack includes TypeScript, NX, Effect, React, Tailwind, BigQuery, Datastream, Metabase, LLM APIs, Terraform, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, and PostgreSQL. Claude is already deployed company-wide with teams using it daily; some automated workflows run in production, and product data has been queryable in plain language for nearly a year. You'll inherit a working foundation and take it to the next level.
Spiko offers offices in central Paris and London with hybrid flexibility (up to 2 days remote per week plus one full remote week per month). Compensation is competitive based on experience with stock options. Requirements (must-haves):
• 5+ years of experience as a software or AI engineer
• Comfortable operating as both an individual contributor and managing stakeholders inside and outside the tech team
• Very comfortable with cloud data infrastructure
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs (agents, RAG, tool use, evaluation) and shipping AI features to production (not just prototypes)
• Ability to operate autonomously with non-technical stakeholders: understanding workflows, scoping automation, and delivering solutions
• Comfortable working in an English-speaking environment
• Curious, eager to learn, with a problem-solving mindset
Nice to have:
• Experience taking ownership of a technical domain across a company (platform, data, or AI enablement roles)
• Experience with functional programming patterns (Effect)
• Built and shipped an MCP server or agent-facing APIs
• Experience in capital markets, fintech, or Web3
• Worked on tech projects in highly regulated environments (fintech, regtech, healthtech, edtech)
