The AFC Operations team is responsible for transaction monitoring, KYC (Know Your Customer) processes, PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) screening, and sanctions compliance. Working closely with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), the team safeguards the organization against financial crime risks while continuously improving internal processes for efficiency and regulatory compliance.
In this role, you will manage name list screening alerts across sanctions, PEPs, and adverse media, conducting thorough KYC investigations to verify customer identities and mitigate risks. You will handle the end-to-end Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) process, drafting, reviewing, and filing SARs with accurate and timely documentation meeting strict regulatory requirements.
You will support the conceptual development and optimization of the bank's screening infrastructure, refining matching logic and tuning thresholds to minimize false positives while capturing relevant risks. Additionally, you will execute operational monitoring and internal controls specific to KYC and screening domains, ensuring daily screening output consistently meets high quality and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate holds a university degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration, or related field, with 2-4 years of solid professional experience in Anti-Financial Crime within financial services. You must have hands-on SAR filing experience, strong knowledge of German (GwG, KWG) and EU AML directives, and familiarity with global sanctions regimes (EU, OFAC, UN). Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and business-level English combined with exceptional German language proficiency are essential.
