The Landline Company is a fast-growing transportation and aviation services company (~500 employees) that partners with major airlines to offer innovative multimodal connections across North America, including a first-of-its-kind remote terminal checkpoint system. They're building their people systems and employee experience from the ground up.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end deployment and configuration of ADP Workforce Now as the primary decision-maker for how payroll, time & attendance, HRIS, talent acquisition, and benefits are structured in the platform. This is not a maintenance role—you'll shape the system architecture and employee experience as the company scales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deploy and configure ADP Workforce Now across all modules; make strategic decisions on platform capabilities and system evolution
- Run biweekly payroll for all employee types (salaried, hourly, commissioned), including overtime, bonuses, deductions, and benefits calculations
- Manage off-cycle payroll runs for terminations, retroactive adjustments, and missed payments
- Maintain payroll records and support internal/external audit requests with accurate reporting
- Configure and maintain ADP time & attendance schedules for hourly employee groups; provide weekly reporting on worked vs. scheduled hours
- Train and support managers on ADP scheduling tools; lead change management efforts
- Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, tax regulations, and social security requirements
- Oversee workers' compensation structure: audit classification rates, support annual policy renewals, respond to audit requests
- Administer employee benefit programs (health insurance, retirement, leave policies), including open enrollment configuration
- Establish bi-monthly audit processes for HR, payroll, and benefits data; maintain clean org structure, accurate employee profiles, and role-based access controls
- Own the employee experience within ADP: troubleshoot issues (pay stubs, time-off approvals, benefits inquiries) and drive continuous improvement
- Build adoption programs for ADP self-service and manager tools; create training materials and onboarding guides
- Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to keep data current for new hires, terminations, promotions, and leave adjustments
Required qualifications: 2+ years of hands-on ADP Workforce Now experience spanning payroll, time & attendance, and HRIS; working knowledge of federal and state payroll tax requirements and wage & hour law; strong Excel skills and data analysis capability; clear communicator who can explain complex concepts to frontline employees; high standards for data integrity and confidentiality.
Preferred: experience building or significantly expanding an ADP Workforce Now instance (not just maintaining one); familiarity with ADP API Central or similar HR data integration tools; exposure to transportation, logistics, or industries with large hourly workforces and complex scheduling.
