Island is seeking an Adoption Specialist for Data Protection & Governance to join the Island Catalyst Team, a specialized unit that partners directly with enterprise customers to accelerate deployments of Island's Enterprise Platform. This role combines customer-facing implementation consulting with internal methodology development.
In this position, you will lead time-boxed deployment engagements focused on data protection, conducting on-site workshops with customer IT, security, and data governance teams to define policy requirements and identify blockers. You'll work alongside Customer Success Managers and Deployment Specialists to configure Island Enterprise Platform environments, specifically focusing on DLP (Data Loss Prevention), web filtering, AI protection, data lineage/visibility, and endpoint policy management. You will deliver comprehensive, documented handoffs that enable customers to manage their data security independently.
Beyond individual engagements, you will build the Island Data Protection practice from the ground up. This includes designing and refining the Island Deployment Framework for data governance, developing specialized workshop guides and customer-facing materials, and building a library of reusable deployment artifacts such as DLP configuration playbooks and best-practice documentation. You'll capture lessons learned from each engagement to continuously improve the overall data governance methodology.
You will also develop standardized engagement frameworks, templates, and methodologies for the Catalyst Data Protection program, creating reusable governance artifacts for both internal and external use. Cross-functional collaboration is essential—you'll partner with Product, Customer Success, and Engineering teams to ensure customer feedback drives continuous platform improvement, and communicate adoption metrics and blockers to executive stakeholders at both Island and customer organizations.
The ideal candidate has 3–10 years of experience in implementation consulting, solutions engineering, or technical customer-facing roles, with hands-on experience deploying Data Protection and Data Governance solutions in enterprise environments. You should have deep expertise in enterprise security concepts including DLP, zero trust, and endpoint policy management, plus a strong technical foundation with enterprise identity systems (Entra ID, Okta), SSO/SAML/SCIM, and browser environments. Experience with AI topics and using AI to support data protection modernization is valued. You must be an excellent communicator who can translate complex security requirements into clear guidance, lead workshops with senior stakeholders, and be willing to travel 30–60% for on-site customer engagements.
