Salary: USD 135,000 - 155,000 / annual
Kodiak Robotics is seeking an Accounting Manager to join and lead its growing accounting team. Founded in 2018, Kodiak is a leader in autonomous ground transportation, having developed AI-powered technology for commercial trucking and public-sector applications. The company delivers freight daily using autonomous technology and partners with the U.S. Department of Defense on autonomous capabilities.
In this role, you will manage and mentor a growing accounting team while driving operational excellence across financial processes. Key responsibilities include:
• Partner with the Finance team to optimize close timelines and implement scalable processes
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting under U.S. GAAP
• Perform account fluctuation analyses and investigate variances
• Oversee and enhance balance sheet reconciliations using FloQast or similar tools
• Ensure assigned accounts are fully reconciled, supported, and documented
• Drive consistency and standardization across reconciliation processes
• Coordinate Prepared-By-Client (PBC) requests in support of external audits
• Track, organize, and follow up on audit deliverables across stakeholders
• Partner with auditors and internal teams to address inquiries efficiently
• Manage and mentor a growing accounting team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
This is a critical hire that will strengthen internal capabilities as the company scales, accelerate month-end close, enhance reconciliation processes, and improve audit readiness. The ideal candidate has deep operational accounting experience, strong leadership skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• 6+ years of relevant accounting experience, including both public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and corporate experience
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and experience managing a variety of general ledger areas
• Experience supporting audits and coordinating PBC requests
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud strongly preferred, including system design or implementation involvement
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to drive deadlines in a high-growth environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and cross-functional collaboration experience
• Experience overseeing accounting for manufacturing operations and cost accounting, including labor and materials tracking, inventory capitalization, and BOM accounting
NICE TO HAVES:
• Experience using FloQast, Blackline, or similar accounting close software
• Familiarity with the transportation, automotive, robotics, or hardware sectors
