Salary: USD 140,000 - 175,000 / annual
Phoenix Tailings is a rapidly growing clean mining and metals production startup focused on sustainable and economic critical metals production. The company aims to be the world's first fully clean mining and metals production company, producing resources needed for the next generation economy.
You will serve as an execution partner to the CEO on company-defining priorities. This role independently shapes and leads work that crosses functional boundaries, often where the question is still unclear and the path forward must be built. You will pair strategic judgment with operating discipline, developing a point of view, earning trust across the company, and driving complex initiatives from initial question through decision and into execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own major CEO-sponsored initiatives from definition through execution
- Develop recommendations on capital allocation, expansion, partnerships, new markets, and company priorities
- Lead cross-functional teams through influence, clear decision-making, and consistent follow-through
- Represent the CEO's office in selected internal and external workstreams
- Prepare and pressure-test materials for board meetings, investors, partners, customers, and executive decisions
- Identify emerging issues and opportunities, define required work, and move toward resolution
- Create operating plans, milestones, and accountability for initiatives outside a single function
- Coach junior team members and raise the quality of analysis and communication across shared projects

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4 to 7 years of experience in consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or an operating role at a scaling company (candidates whose scope and results demonstrate required ownership level will be considered)
- Strong strategic and financial judgment with ability to form clear recommendations from incomplete information
- Experience leading complex projects across functions without relying on formal authority
- Excellent executive communication and ability to adapt detail for different audiences
- High discretion, low ego, and record of earning trust with senior leaders
- Ability to move between analysis and hands-on execution as work requires
- Experience in industrial technology, advanced manufacturing, critical materials, or climate-related industries is helpful
