Vensure Employer Solutions, the largest privately held HR technology and service organization, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing for a growing client base. The company serves over 95,000 businesses and processes over $135B in annual payroll. In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day payroll processing support, including scheduled and off-cycle payrolls. Your core responsibilities include importing or manually entering payroll changes (hours, employee updates, earnings, deductions, tax overrides); calculating payroll and confirming accurate data entry through control totals and manual review; responding timely and accurately to client inquiries via email, cases, and phone; partnering with Payroll Supervisors on special projects; and managing an assigned book of business. You will also build and maintain relationships with team members and peers across disciplines, attend training to stay current on best practices, and complete additional projects as assigned. The role is computer-intensive and sedentary, requiring extended periods at a desk, frequent keyboard and mouse use, and close visual attention to detailed numerical data and spreadsheets. You will handle sensitive employee information and compensation data in compliance with privacy and security standards. The work environment is a professional, climate-controlled office with regular interaction with clients and internal teams via email, phone, and virtual platforms. Key competencies include effective time management, high accuracy and attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication, intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (especially Excel with formulas and pivot tables), analytical thinking for troubleshooting, good judgment, and ability to partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Operations teams. REQUIREMENTS: - High school diploma or equivalent (or combination of relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, or job training programs) - Minimum one year customer service experience - At least one year payroll experience preferred (not required) - Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability to learn other applications
