Salary: USD 153,425 - 190,000 / annual
Carta is seeking a Workday Integrations Architect to own the end-to-end integration pipeline connecting Workday with internal and external platforms. You will design, configure, deploy, and support integrations using Studio, Orchestrations, Core Connectors, EIB, RaaS, and REST/SOAP APIs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the complete integration lifecycle from design through production support, ensuring seamless connectivity across Workday and internal/external systems
- Ensure data integrity across all inbound and outbound integrations by building rigorous mapping, transformation, and validation processes
- Govern the integration lifecycle, managing code migrations, production support, and Workday release cycles including impact analysis and regression testing
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Workday integrations, advising HR, IT, and business stakeholders on design patterns and best practices
- Extend Workday's capabilities through Extend applications, calculated fields, and business process automation to reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency
- Maintain key external platform connections including Greenhouse, HireVue, and others to keep Carta's HR tech ecosystem reliable and well-integrated
You'll join Carta's People Platform team, which owns the systems powering how nearly 2,000 Carta employees globally experience work from hire to retire. The team sits at the intersection of HR, IT, and engineering, building integrations and automation that keep people data accurate, compliant, and actionable as Carta scales internationally.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 8 years of general Workday experience and 4+ years of hands-on experience with Workday integrations (Studio, Orchestrations, Core Connectors, EIB, RaaS, REST, SOAP)
- Proven track record building and maintaining complex integrations in production environments
- Deep understanding of Workday data model and business processes across multiple modules including Core HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits, and Security
- Proficiency in XML, XSLT, JSON, XSD, and SQL
- Comfortable debugging integrations, managing API authentication, handling encryption and certificates (x509/PGP), and working within SFTP/data exchange frameworks
- Experience working in global environments and navigating multi-region, multi-system data flows and compliance requirements
- Builder mentality with experience extending Workday capabilities
- Familiarity with agentic AI or LLMs (such as Claude) is a plus
