Salary: USD 130,000 - 153,000 / annual

As a Web Engineer III on the Hunt team, you will build and scale web experiences for hunters, contributing to onX's goal of delivering a best-in-class Hunt experience from onboarding through the season. You'll take ownership of technical solutions from ideation through delivery, collaborating with Product, Design, QA, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver cohesive, high-quality customer experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build, support, and evolve web products using TypeScript, Vue, GraphQL (Apollo Client), and Mapbox
- Own technical solutions end-to-end, making decisions about architecture, performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability
- Partner across teams to navigate dependencies and deliver integrated customer experiences
- Run and instrument A/B tests and feature rollouts using Split, Eppo, and Amplitude to measure impact and inform decisions
- Raise quality standards through design reviews, mentorship, and frontend best practices
- Monitor production health and participate in incident triage and resolution
- Write unit and end-to-end tests using Jest, Vitest, Cypress, and/or Playwright
- Explore opportunities to embed AI as a repeatable co-pilot in daily workflows through thoughtful experimentation and validation

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
- 4+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years focused on web client development
- Strong foundation in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and browser fundamentals
- Experience with modern web frontend frameworks (Vue, React, or Angular)
- Experience working with REST APIs and/or Apollo Client with GraphQL
- Experience writing unit tests with Jest or Vitest
- Strong sense of ownership and execution mindset
- Willingness to collaborate, provide and receive mentorship, and advocate for customer experience
- Curiosity about exploring new technologies, including AI
- Permanent US work authorization required
- Ability to travel occasionally to corporate offices or onX strategic locations
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS (not required):
- Experience with TypeScript and Vue
- Familiarity with experimentation and analytics tooling (Split/Eppo, Amplitude)
- Experience with Mapbox or other mapping tools
- Cross-platform experience (mobile and backend)
- Familiarity with Apollo Client caching for GraphQL
- Experience writing end-to-end tests with Playwright or Cypress
