MaintainX, now part of Autodesk Operations Solutions, is a mobile-first work execution platform used by 13,000+ customers including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL, and Volvo to manage 13.9 million assets and 79.5 million work orders. The Core team owns the heart of MaintainX's CMMS: work orders, planning and scheduling, inventory and parts management, reporting, and asset hierarchy—the features frontline teams use daily. The team is investing heavily in newly formed squads building a work execution platform and completely redesigned technician experience from the ground up.
You will define the technical direction of workflows customers use daily, from planning to parts management to reporting. You'll solve complex product problems: data-dense interfaces, high-volume data handling, offline behavior, and multi-site scale. In newly formed teams, you'll define architecture and engineering practices from the start. You'll make complex workflows simple across desktop and mobile.
Responsibilities include: leading design and delivery of large, ambiguous projects end-to-end from planning to production; collaborating directly with product managers, designers, and engineering leadership to shape your team's roadmap and influence neighboring teams; owning long-term technical health of a domain (reliability, performance, invisible-until-broken systems); driving architecture decisions and writing technical proposals others depend on; mentoring senior and staff-level engineers and setting code review standards; raising the bar on tooling, testing, and delivery practices across multiple teams.
You'll join a team of 5–10 people and participate in on-call rotation. Within 6 months, you'll own the technical direction of a domain or system. The core tech stack includes TypeScript, React, Node.js, and MySQL; some teams use C# or Python.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of professional experience designing full-stack web or mobile products, with demonstrated track record of technical leadership spanning beyond a single team
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js
- Experience designing systems that scaled under load, with judgment to know when not to build something
- Experience in iterative, adaptive, mobile-first development
- Demonstrated track record writing maintainable, testable code you're comfortable handing to others
- Excellent written and verbal communication: explaining technical tradeoffs to designers, support leads, executives, and other developers with equal ease
- Comfort advancing problems before specs are fully locked, adjusting as understanding evolves
- Daily use of AI tools in your development process, not just occasional experimentation
- Nice-to-haves: GraphQL, React Native, or SQL database experience. For this domain, valued experience includes scheduling/calendar interfaces, data-rich interfaces, offline-first or sync architectures, multi-tenant or enterprise platforms, workflow engines, and inventory/transactional systems
