Salary: USD 174,200 - 217,800 / annual
Scale AI is seeking a Web Designer to join the Interactive Brand Studio, a 9-person team responsible for Scale's visual identity, brand strategy, scale.com design and development, and original creative content. This role reports to the Manager of Web Experience.
You will design responsive, visually compelling website layouts, page templates, graphics, and interactive UI patterns across Scale's digital properties, with primary focus on scale.com. You'll create reusable design components, patterns, and systems that establish consistency while enabling teams to move quickly. Your work will include developing wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that translate business objectives, brand direction, and user needs into intuitive digital experiences.
You'll partner closely with web engineers to communicate design intent, prepare implementation-ready specifications, review builds, and ensure high-quality execution. You'll apply responsive design, accessibility, usability, and web performance best practices to create seamless experiences across devices. You'll champion consistent application of Scale's visual identity while exploring new design directions reflecting the company's growth and position in AI. You'll experiment with AI-powered design and development tools, rapid prototyping, and emerging interaction patterns. Working with cross-functional stakeholders, you'll incorporate feedback, evaluate design effectiveness, and continuously improve web experiences.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of experience in web design, digital design, visual design, or related field, supported by portfolio demonstrating strong visual craft, web design expertise, and shipped digital experiences
- Proficiency in Figma for design systems, component libraries, prototyping, and developer handoff
- Understanding of responsive design, typography, layout systems, accessibility, interaction design, and modern web UI/UX principles
- Ability to design within technical constraints without compromising experience quality
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS; understanding of how designs translate into production websites
- Ability to create scalable design patterns and reusable components maintaining visual consistency across complex websites and content types
- Excitement about emerging AI tools and their potential to transform design and development workflows
- Ability to balance speed with craft, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work in fast-moving environment
- Clear communication, openness to constructive feedback, proactive problem-solving, and effective collaboration with design, engineering, marketing, and brand partners
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience designing and implementing motion graphics, animations, and micro-interactions
- Familiarity with modern web development workflows and frameworks (React, Next.js) and deployment platforms (Vercel)
- Experience with headless CMS platforms, particularly Sanity
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design, prototyping, and vibe-coding tools
- Experience using web analytics, experimentation, or user research to inform design decisions
- Experience creating data visualizations, technical graphics, or complex information experiences
- Interest in AI industry and understanding of Scale's mission and products
Additional tools/familiarity valued: Adobe Creative Cloud, AEM, Canva tools.
