Apple's Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization is seeking a Web Accessibility Engineer to join the IS&T Accessibility Center of Excellence (CoE) team in Hyderabad. This role is part of IS&T EMEIA, which serves Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa across functions including Business Intelligence, Corporate and Customer Systems, Employee Experience and Productivity, Infrastructure Services, and Retail.
The Accessibility CoE team is dedicated to promoting and supporting accessibility globally across Apple, embedding accessibility into customer and employee-facing digital services, apps, and websites. As a Web Accessibility Engineer, you will perform accessibility evaluations of web applications, document findings clearly, and contribute actionable recommendations under the guidance of senior team members. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and engineering throughout the project lifecycle, supporting accessibility reviews and helping ensure inclusive experiences are built into products from the ground up.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing accessibility evaluations using established testing methodologies
- Documenting accessibility findings and providing clear, actionable recommendations
- Collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams on accessibility reviews
- Contributing to the team's accessibility training materials, tooling, and standards as you grow in the role
- Supporting remediation efforts for web applications
This role requires curiosity, attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and someone eager to be hands-on in a fast-paced environment. Minimum Qualifications:
- Foundational knowledge and experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Ability to debug unfamiliar code and trace issues to root cause using browser developer tools
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Eagerness to independently learn new technologies and accessibility best practices
- Clear and effective communication skills, with ability to work alongside both technical and non-technical team members
- Collaborative mindset and genuine interest in building working relationships across teams
- Ability to manage tasks across multiple workstreams with support from the team
