Salary: USD 104,000 - 156,000 / annual
Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The company is developing both the rocket and the manufacturing processes from the ground up, with a focus on autonomy, ownership, and impact at every level.
The Components team is responsible for all fluid control devices across Terran R, from propulsion to stage systems. This role is part of that team and focuses on valve manufacturing and productionization.
In this position, you will:
- Work with Design and Test teams to productionize valve designs
- Create work instructions, build tooling, and evaluate value streams to reduce time, cost, and nonconformances
- Stand up machinery and manufacturing equipment
- Own products from design through production, incorporating lessons learned and providing feedback to improve future iterations
- Collaborate with technicians and cross-functional teams including Propulsion, Avionics, and Stage Fluids
- Leverage co-located design, manufacturing, and test assets to iterate quickly based on real-world performance data
This is a 2nd shift position based in Long Beach, California.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Understanding of engineering principles
- Experience with various seals and installation procedures
- Experience with cryo and ambient testing
- Experience working with technicians and creating work instructions
