Mecka AI is building the data infrastructure layer for robotics and embodied AI. The company designs and operates global systems for data capture, data labeling, and hardware-enabled workflows used by leading AI labs and robotics companies to train and validate humanoid and embodied AI systems.
In this role, you will prove that Mecka's capture hardware records the right data and maintains reliability through real-world use. You will design tests, fixtures, and automation that establish recording quality and release readiness across hardware and software. As data collection scales, your results will guide deployment decisions. The core challenge is exposing subtle timing errors, data loss, and intermittent failures, then converting each finding into a repeatable test.
Key responsibilities:
- Build automated hardware tests that verify recording quality, performance, and recovery against defined requirements
- Test long recording sessions and fault conditions, including power loss, disconnects, full storage, and competing workloads
- Analyze recorded data for missing frames, timestamp errors, incomplete sensor streams, and corruption
- Reproduce failures, collaborate with engineers to isolate root causes, and develop regression tests
- Define release checks and qualification tests across supported hardware and software configurations
Requirements:
Must-have:
- 3–4 years of strong Python or comparable scripting skills for test automation, data analysis, and reporting
- Experience testing embedded Linux, cameras, robotics, or connected hardware
- Ability to build and automate physical test fixtures, including device control and measurement
- Practical knowledge of Linux diagnostics, networking, logs, and system performance tools
- Skill in designing repeatable experiments and separating product failures from test setup issues
- Ability to analyze timing and recorded data, reproduce intermittent faults, and verify fixes under stress
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with camera pipelines, update fault testing, or continuous integration for hardware
- Experience with electrical failure analysis, environmental testing, or repair qualification
