Rippling is seeking a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to lead the Agentic Talent platform, a new initiative where people and AI agents collaborate to transform how organizations manage talent. You will serve as a technical leader responsible for creating intuitive experiences for users while building secure, reliable capabilities that enable agents to understand context, take action, and coordinate complex talent workflows.
In this role, you will own architecture decisions across the product lifecycle, from early prototypes through production systems. You will develop scalable, maintainable, high-performance systems that power critical talent products and workflows. Close partnership with Product and AI Platform leadership will be central to defining vision, prototyping ideas, and building products that reshape employee lifecycle management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building exceptional, scalable products with high performance and maintainability
- Delivering high-quality capabilities quickly while balancing iteration speed, reliability, and long-term maintainability
- Leading architectural decisions and applying systems thinking to build fault-tolerant, highly available, scalable systems
- Establishing strong standards for observability, reliability, incident response, and continuous improvement
- Collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, designers, AI Platform engineers, and customers
- Mentoring senior and earlier-career engineers, raising the technical bar through design reviews and best practices
- Directly influencing the team's technical direction, culture, and ways of working as an early member
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in ambiguity, builds from first principles, and wants to create category-defining products at one of the fastest-growing enterprise software companies. Success requires strong product judgment, obsession with customer behavior, and a drive to replace repetitive processes with intelligent, adaptable workflows.

Rippling highly values in-office collaboration and expects office-based employees (those within a defined radius of a Rippling office) to work in the office at least three days per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of full stack software development experience, including designing and operating large-scale systems

- React experience preferred for front-end work
- Strong command of computer science fundamentals and distributed-system design, including asynchronous processing, caching, data modeling, and database scaling
- Experience designing extensible services, APIs, or primitives used across multiple products and workflows
- Deep interest in customer behavior, product design, and delivering intuitive, polished experiences
- Track record of navigating ambiguity, defining technical direction, scoping complex work, reviewing designs, and helping other engineers grow
- Comfort operating in fast-moving, unstructured environments and proactively identifying opportunities to improve both product and team processes
