ICEYE is building a space-based RF constellation (100 MHz to 30 GHz) alongside its SAR satellite fleet. The Experimentation Lab in Valencia is the center for developing, simulating, and validating this capability. As Lab Test Engineer, you will plan, execute, automate, and document comprehensive lab tests across simulation, signal capture, playback, and hardware-in-the-loop scenarios to ensure results are repeatable and trusted. Your day-to-day responsibilities include: - Plan and execute tests across all lab missions: end-to-end simulation runs, emitter capture sessions, playback and channel simulator campaigns, flatsat and receiver tests, and algorithm validation. - Write procedures and automate them: convert manual setups into scripted, repeatable test sequences and integrate them into regression testing for each software or firmware build. - Set up and maintain lab infrastructure: instruments, SDRs, cabling, fixtures, screened enclosure, emitter bays, network and compute resources. Track calibration, configuration, and inventory to ensure every result records its provenance. - Manage test data: organize recordings, run outputs, and metadata to be searchable and backed up with full reproducibility. - Analyze and report: compare results to expectations and previous runs, flag regressions and anomalies, write concise test reports, and log issues with supporting evidence. - Support field campaigns, customer and partner demonstrations, and reproduction of on-orbit anomalies on the ground. - Ensure lab safety: RF safety, ESD protocols, equipment handling, access control, and handling of controlled material. You'll have an early seat in a new lab with direct influence on how ICEYE builds and proves this RF constellation capability. Success milestones: at 6 months, lab equipment is inventoried and calibrated with procedures running reliably; at 12 months, core tests are automated in regression and field campaigns are supported; at 24 months, the lab operates as a service with other teams booking tests and receiving results with full evidence. ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space, operating the world's largest and most advanced SAR satellite constellation. The company serves defense, intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance, and emergency management customers globally, with over 1,000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. REQUIREMENTS: Must haves: - Hands-on test experience in electronics, RF, space, or comparable hardware lab (test setups, procedures, execution, reporting) - Comfort with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies) and basic RF practice (connectors, attenuators, cable loss) - Scripting for test automation and data analysis, typically Python - Organized and rigorous working approach: documentation, version control, reproducibility - Clear written English Nice to haves: - Satellite AIT, flatsat, or hardware-in-the-loop testing experience - SDR experience, RF capture, or signal analysis - Test automation frameworks, CI pipelines, instrument control (SCPI/VISA) - Test data management, databases, dashboards - Verification under formal process (ECSS or similar) - Lab setup from scratch experience (equipment selection, layout, safety, calibration) - Spanish language skills - Eligibility for national security clearance
