Contabilizei is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to design and evolve backend solutions for their Billing systems, primarily using Java. You will contribute to the evolution of the platform's architecture, reliability, and financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and evolve backend services using Java, ensuring performant, scalable, and high-quality applications
- Design and implement microservices architectures, contributing to system modularization and evolution
- Develop and evolve APIs and integrations supporting billing, invoicing, and payment processes
- Model, architect, and design code with focus on scalability, resilience, and financial integrity
- Develop and review code to high standards, ensuring consistent delivery and reduced rework
- Actively participate in technical discussions and architectural decisions
- Implement and evolve monitoring, observability, and security practices to ensure production stability
- Identify technical risks and propose solutions to minimize operational impacts on billing and payment processes
- Integrate systems and services across the financial ecosystem, ensuring consistency, traceability, and performance
- Support the technical development of less experienced team members through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Analysis, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Solid experience in backend development using Java, with Spring Boot experience
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL and Firestore)
- Cloud experience (preferably Google Cloud Platform)
- Experience with messaging technologies and asynchronous processing (preferably Google Cloud Pub/Sub and RabbitMQ)
- Knowledge of caching solutions (preferably Redis)
- Strong understanding of software quality best practices (Unit Testing, TDD, BDD)
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD
- Knowledge of software development and architecture best practices (SOLID, Design Patterns, Clean Code)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Kotlin and TypeScript
- Experience in financial or transactional systems with rigorous consistency, availability, and reliability requirements
- Experience with Stripe integrations
- Experience developing solutions with AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, etc.)
