Coins.ph, the most established crypto brand in the Philippines with 18+ million users, is seeking a Technology Lead to spearhead development and scaling of its high-performance exchange platform. The company is fully regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and holds both Virtual Currency and Electronic Money Issuer licenses—the first crypto-based company in Asia to achieve this dual regulatory status.
In this role, you will bridge technical execution and strategic leadership, designing and implementing robust microservices-based Java applications while mentoring a talented developer team. You'll collaborate across international borders to support global expansion, manage the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering through production deployment, and ensure seamless platform operations and high performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading exchange platform development with focus on performance and reliability
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust Java-based applications and microservices
- Writing high-quality, scalable, and efficient code
- Managing the complete SDLC and coordinating with product, design, and development teams
- Leading and mentoring junior developers, conducting code reviews, and fostering technical growth
- Ensuring regulatory compliance and collaborating with compliance teams on KYC and fiat transaction processes
- Staying current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Fostering cross-cultural relationships to support global expansion

REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a Java Developer with strong object-oriented programming foundation
- Expertise in Spring Boot and Spring Cloud frameworks for microservices-based applications
- Leadership experience with demonstrated ability to mentor and guide developer teams
- Strong knowledge of databases (MySQL, NoSQL such as Redis)
- Familiarity with middleware technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Experience with RESTful web services and API design
- Proficiency with version control systems (Git)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
- Experience with system performance optimization (preferred)
- Proficient in spoken English; Mandarin speaking and listening skills are a strong plus
- Strategic vision and proven ability to execute technology initiatives in fintech/crypto
- Extensive experience leading and scaling high-performing tech teams in startup environments
- Expertise in designing robust, secure, scalable solutions for distributed systems
- In-depth understanding of security challenges and best practices in crypto industry
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to navigate regulatory landscapes
