The Platform team builds and maintains foundational services including Identity and Access Management, authorization, Search, and API infrastructure. You'll also develop tools, frameworks, and enhancements to improve developer experience across the entire software development lifecycle.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to translate product and technical vision into code
- Advocate for and implement modern architectural patterns
- Extend existing functionality to handle rapidly increasing scale
- Monitor and optimize database queries for performance improvements
- Create internal tools to support other engineers and departments, improving efficiency
- Produce high-quality, thoroughly tested code and perform code reviews
- Provide guidance, documentation, and support to product teams using the platform
- Use observability tools to measure and enhance frontend application performance and reliability
- Work closely with product engineers to align on platform improvements
The company offers flexible work arrangements ranging from fully remote to full-time office work, with physical offices in San Francisco, New York City, Mumbai, and Bangalore.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6–10 years of experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale systems in production
- Expertise in Python and frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Pyramid, Django)
- Experience with SQL database schema design and query optimizations
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with continuous integration and Infrastructure as Code
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively
- Passion for improving developer experience through better tooling, automation, and documentation
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience on a Platform team or building tools for developers
- Experience building products or tools using GenAI/LLMs
- Experience with GraphQL
- Experience decomposing monoliths into microservices
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code and identify failure modes
- Experience building and shipping production-grade software using AI-assisted workflows
- Hands-on experience developing or integrating LLM-powered systems (agents, copilots, tool-using workflows)
- Familiarity with tool-calling agents, planning/execution loops, and RAG
- Demonstrated ability to leverage modern AI tools to improve development velocity and code quality
- Experience contributing to AI-powered features (intelligent search, conversational interfaces, recommendations)
- Working knowledge of LLMs, embeddings, semantic search, and RAG pipelines
- Ability to identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate AI capabilities into products
