Armadin Security, founded by Kevin Mandia (founder of Mandiant, acquired by Google for $5.4B), is building autonomous proactive security systems powered by AI. The company brings together researchers and engineers from Google, xAI, Meta, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Waterloo, Berkeley, and MIT to defend against autonomous cyberattacks before they materialize.
You will lead the engineering team behind Armadin's portal—the primary customer-facing interface where complex security data is presented, explored, and acted upon. This is a high-impact leadership role combining people management with hands-on technical direction for a frontend-leaning, full-stack team.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and grow the portal engineering team with both people leadership and strong technical direction across the full stack
- Own architecture and execution of core portal experiences, presenting large interconnected datasets through rich graph and relationship views
- Partner closely with Product and Design to transform dense, complex data into intuitive, trustworthy, and fast-to-act-on experiences
- Evolve the portal from a data-consumption surface into a richer exploration and reasoning tool, increasingly powered by AI
- Build performant, scalable frontend and full-stack systems using modern UI stacks (React, TypeScript) and interactive visualization libraries (D3, WebGL)
- Collaborate with platform, data, and infrastructure teams to deliver a unified portal experience
You will stay hands-on—setting direction, reviewing critical decisions, and coding when it matters. The role requires deep partnership with Product and Design, with an ability to simplify complex domains and care about the full user experience, not just implementation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of industry experience building and scaling complex, data-heavy, user-facing products
- Strong full-stack engineering background with real depth on the frontend; proven track record of shipping polished product surfaces
- 5+ years of engineering management experience, with a track record of mentoring senior engineers and leading cross-functional teams
- Track record of owning architecture and execution for significant product surfaces and turning ambiguous problems into shipped, reliable software
- Ability to partner deeply with Product and Design; care about the experience, not just implementation
- Comfort staying hands-on while setting direction and reviewing hard decisions
- AI fluency in how you work; ability to clearly explain how you use AI in practice and how it shapes your team's building approach
- Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
PREFERRED:
- Experience building products that present complex, high-stakes data to expert users
- Experience building enterprise products with understanding of reliability, scale, and trust expectations
- Experience scaling frontend systems and design systems across growing surface area and team
