The Technical Consultant owns the end-to-end technical design, configuration, documentation, and ongoing health of data integrations between EdSights and customer institutions. This role works consultatively with customer IT teams to advise on data mapping, data structure, and integration design, ensuring secure and reliable data transfers that align with institutional workflows and reporting needs.

- Providing ongoing technical ownership and support for customer integrations, troubleshooting issues and maintaining configurations as needs evolve
- Owning setup, support, and maintenance of SFTP-based data imports and exports, ensuring correct formatting, secure delivery, and reliable processing
- Managing migration of legacy partners from manual file uploads to automated SFTP integrations, including assessment, scoping, and project management through go-live
- Validating incoming customer data for accuracy, completeness, and formatting consistency; diagnosing root-cause data quality issues
- Coordinating with Engineering and Product to configure and maintain customer exports to systems such as Starfish, Navigate, and Salesforce

- Developing expertise in customer platforms and technology stacks to provide recommendations on data mapping and integration design
- Building and evolving EdSights' integration processes, documentation, playbooks, SOPs, and standards to improve visibility, consistency, and repeatability as the function scales
This is an early-stage, evolving function where the successful candidate will help shape how integrations are approached and scaled beyond current workflows. The role requires strong project management discipline, independent problem-solving, and a bias toward action.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in technical consulting, solutions engineering, implementation, or similar customer-facing technical role, ideally in SaaS or EdTech
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated experience independently leading multiple concurrent technical/integration projects from discovery through delivery; proficiency with tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Jira, or similar
- Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose root causes and develop sustainable solutions
- Strong communication skills and technical acumen; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and work consultatively with customer IT teams
- Experience working with structured data files (CSV, flat files) including analyzing, mapping, validating, and troubleshooting data between systems
- Strong understanding of data integrations and secure file transfers, including SFTP workflows, file naming conventions, scheduled data exchanges, and system-to-system data flows
- Deep experience with SFTP-based integrations and working knowledge of SQL strongly preferred
- Experience building and maintaining playbooks, SOPs, or internal documentation using tools such as Notion or Confluence
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Implementation, Product, Engineering, and Partner Success teams
- Experience with higher education systems or student success platforms is a plus
- Self-starter with strong bias for action, sharp problem-solving instincts, and ability to operate independently in ambiguity
- Customer-first mindset with ability to build trust and communicate proactively
