You will lead a full-stack engineering team comprising backend and mobile engineers, serving as a hands-on Tech Lead Manager for one of EarnIn's core services teams. This is a hybrid role based in the Bengaluru office with 2 days per week in-office presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with product and engineering teams to improve business metrics and build new features, including user acquisition, cross-selling, and user experience improvements
- Drive design and implementation of new product areas and features, breaking down complex problems into elegant solutions with high-quality, maintainable code
- Guide your team through ambiguity and ensure technical excellence via rapid experimentation cycles
- Lead strong execution: make pragmatic decisions, help launch MVPs quickly, and iterate based on feedback
- Navigate frequent pivots and evolving priorities in a fast-changing environment
- Recruit great engineers for your team and support recruiting efforts across teams
- Mentor and coach engineers on your team to advance their careers
- Manage cross-functional relationships with all teams to deliver high-quality products
You will work with cross-functional partners including PMs, analysts, and both mobile and backend-focused engineers to shape the direction of early-stage, innovative products.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading a small team as a manager or tech lead manager
- Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical work (architecture, clean code, solving complex problems) with people leadership (mentoring, culture-building, driving delivery)
- Experience leading teams that consistently delivered high-quality output on critical infrastructure projects
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with PMs, analysts, and engineers
- Creative, tenacious problem solver with a get-it-done attitude
- Ability to create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment
Preferred Technical Skills:
- C#, .NET/.NET Core, Kotlin, Python, SQL, Databricks, AWS
- REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, Kafka, CI/CD, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native development
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or similar)
- Fintech experience
- Experience leading design, implementation, and deployment of high-scale cross-functional payments systems
