Verse Medical is a Series C healthtech company (backed by General Catalyst, SignalFire, and Sapphire Ventures) building modern software infrastructure to coordinate care across providers, payors, and patients. The company is scaling rapidly and seeking a Talent Acquisition Manager to build and lead the recruiting function from the ground up. In this zero-to-one role, you will own the day-to-day execution of Verse Medical's recruiting engine and directly manage a team of recruiters and sourcers. You'll be responsible for hiring and developing recruiting talent, partnering with leadership on strategic workforce planning and org design, and personally leading full-cycle recruitment for senior and specialized roles. Key responsibilities include: - Team Leadership & Development: Manage, coach, and develop recruiters and sourcers; set goals, provide real-time feedback, and build a high-performance culture. - Executive & Critical Searches: Lead full-cycle recruitment for senior, specialized, or sensitive roles, acting as closer when needed. - Strategic Workforce Planning: Partner with department leaders and executives on org design, headcount planning, and hiring strategy. - Process & Systems Ownership: Own and improve the hiring lifecycle, including structured interview design, employer branding, and optimization of Ashby, BrightHire, and Juicebox. - Data-Driven Reporting: Own pipeline forecasting, compensation benchmarking, and translate recruiting metrics into actionable leadership updates. - Candidate Experience: Champion candidate care across the organization, ensuring every interaction reflects company mission and values. You'll work with a pragmatic, execution-focused Talent team using Ashby (ATS), LinkedIn, Gem, Juicebox, BrightHire, and CoderPad. REQUIREMENTS: - 6+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including direct experience managing, mentoring, or leading other recruiters - Track record of building and scaling a recruiting function in a fast-paced, high-growth startup (healthcare or health-tech experience is a strong plus) - Demonstrated success hiring and developing high-performing recruiting talent - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills - Comfort operating with ambiguity and building process rather than following existing ones - Passion for healthcare mission and impact
