Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Space team is expanding AI-powered capabilities for Space Domain Awareness, Space Control, and Command and Control, developing fully integrated hardware and software systems including Lattice for Space Missions and modular payloads.
As a Systems Test Engineer for the Space team, you will own the testing of integrated space system qualification and flight hardware. You will be responsible for deriving test requirements, executing tests, generating test reports, and conducting tests safely across all levels of integration—from unit-level testing and bus testing to technology-differentiated payloads and full space vehicle systems. You will develop, maintain, and upgrade test support hardware including Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE). This role requires working in cleanroom environments at times and is directly tied to ongoing, funded programs requiring resilient, software-defined spacecraft systems across numerous mission threads.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and owning test campaigns for modules, buses, payloads, and full space vehicle systems
- Assisting assembly and integration campaigns for space systems flight hardware
- Integrating across teams to identify testing requirements and develop verification and validation plans
- Developing test plans and procedures for prototype, qualification, and acceptance of space systems flight hardware
- Developing and maintaining Mechanical and Electrical Ground Support Equipment
- Developing and maintaining automated test scripts and test reporting systems
- Creating and analyzing metrics for debugging and monitoring
- Triaging issues, conducting root cause analysis, and coordinating corrective actions
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong engineering background from industry or school in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent engineering field
- 4+ years of professional experience conducting assembly, integration, and test of space systems flight hardware with focus on complete test coverage and high-yield test campaigns
- Deep understanding of industry and government test standards
- Experience with space environmental testing including vibration, thermal vacuum, and electromagnetic interference and compatibility (EMI/EMC)
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and detailed requirements
- Capable of solving complex technical problems with little oversight
- Clear communication and organizational skills, especially when generating documentation and training materials
- Experience writing technical documentation, procedures, and reports
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, and/or Linux systems
- Desire to work on critical software in the space domain
- Experience with testing/validation leveraging FlatSats, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) testbeds
- Experience working in cleanroom and ESD-safe environments
- Understanding of sensors, signal conditioning, and data acquisition electronics
- Experience with RF integration and testing
- Experience with optical systems integration and testing
