Salary: USD 112,000 - 149,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Air Defense team builds networked sensor and effector systems that detect, track, identify, and defeat unmanned aerial system (UAS) threats. The team develops, tests, deploys, and sustains complex family-of-systems solutions in challenging operational environments worldwide. As a Systems Test Engineer, you will join the Air Defense team in Costa Mesa, CA. The Air Defense family of systems represents Anduril's most complex fielded capability to date. Each deployment combines unique hardware and software products in various configurations, targeting different mission sets and customer expectations. You will own the technical success of end-to-end solutions. Key responsibilities: - Lead integration of emerging capabilities, bringing new products into the family of systems through scoping and executing hardware and software solutions (internal and external). - Lead requirements decomposition across cross-functional teams, defining success in the face of ambiguity. - Scope ideal system laydown, scrutinize system performance, and ensure deployed systems meet customer requirements. Make tradeoffs across capability, timelines, risk, cost, and other factors. - Own systems end-to-end with ability to identify and solve problems between seams and drive to ultimate outcomes. - Travel up to 25% to customer sites. REQUIREMENTS: - 1–3 years of hardware and software systems engineering experience. - Degree in Engineering, Physics, Robotics, Mathematics, or related field. - Demonstrated use of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) in program lifecycle. - Experience with tools: JAMA, Cameo, Matlab, Simulink, AFSIM. - Programming experience in Python, C/C++, or Rust for analysis and simulation. - Skilled in Statistics, AI/ML, MBSE, and Requirements. - Demonstrated proficiency applying engineering standards to engineering processes or requirements. - Demonstrated experience collaborating across cross-functional teams. - Comfortable working with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and challenging problems. - Excellent communication and presentation skills. - Must be authorized to work in the United States. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Familiarity with Linux OS and command-line tools. - Previous experience in defense, naval, or aerospace environments. - DO-178, MIL-STD-882E, Airworthiness, or Compliance experience. - Experience with robotics, autonomous systems, radar, optics, computer vision, wireless communication, software-defined radios, or networking. - Experience designing test architecture for verification and validation campaigns. - Exceptional proficiency with Python and/or MATLAB for data parsing and visualization. - Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, or automation pipelines.
