Salary: EUR 66,000 - 91,000 / annual
Cloudflare's Production Engineering team is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the internal Observability Team, responsible for building and operating the observability platform and stack that enables Cloudflare's engineering teams to be productive. This role focuses on metrics, alerting, error tracking, logging, tracing, and related observability infrastructure.
You will design, deliver, and operate software and platforms that advance Cloudflare's observability capabilities. Key responsibilities include solving scaling bottlenecks in critical services within the metrics and alerting pipeline, working on highly distributed and scalable systems, participating in knowledge sharing and mentoring, joining the global on-call rotation for owned services, researching and introducing cutting-edge technologies, and contributing to open-source projects.

You will work in a 24/7/365 service environment with a strong emphasis on reliability, performance, and safety across internal and external-facing services.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Software engineering background with proficiency in high-level programming languages (e.g., Go)
- Proficiency in data structures and databases such as TSDBs (Time Series Databases) and columnar stores
- Proficiency in distributed Linux environments
- Proficiency in designing high-scale distributed systems
- Proficiency in Prometheus, Alertmanager, and Thanos
- Experience working in fast, high-growth environments
- Experience working in 24/7/365 service environments
- Exquisite written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with internetworking, networking protocols (OSI model layers 2-7), and BGP
- Strong bias for action
