Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company develops unmanned aerial systems (UAS) including Anvil, Altius, and Ghost platforms, powered by Lattice OS—an AI-powered operating system that converts thousands of data streams into real-time 3D command and control centers. You will join the team developing next-generation flight vehicles and UAS platforms capable of terminal guidance, long-range intelligence collection, precision navigation, and unsupervised autonomy. These systems operate in remote environments with limited user input, requiring exceptional reliability and autonomous capabilities. The team has developed an autonomy stack that receives user intent, responds to edge-processed detections, and coordinates flight patterns for groups of assets. In this role, you will enable UAS Command & Control (C2) capabilities through resilient network design. Your responsibilities include: • Deriving system, subsystem, and component-level requirements • Designing, developing, and maintaining system components that meet functional and performance requirements in complex system environments • Conducting thorough testing and debugging to ensure reliability, scalability, and resilience of software applications, particularly within distributed systems contexts • Working closely with hardware engineers and product managers to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components • Collaborating with the team to define and document software engineering processes and practices, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements You will support the engineering product development, production, and sustainment through the entire product lifecycle, leveraging simulation and rapid prototyping to drive complex electro-mechanical and aero-performance design trades. REQUIREMENTS: • 5+ years of experience as a network engineer, demonstrating ability to execute complex engineering-level tasks independently and as part of a team • Expert-level knowledge of multicast protocols (IGMP, PIM) and unicast protocols (OSPF, BGP) • Experience with end-to-end testing of both unicast and multicast data flows • Experience with Quality of Service (QoS) and Class-Based Weighted Fair Queuing (CBWFQ) • Advanced knowledge of Linux-based operating systems • Hands-on experience with networking design, test, and operation of communications systems for Line of Sight (LOS) and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) environments • Proficiency in test script development using common languages (Python, Matlab, etc.) • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Must hold a U.S. Secret security clearance • Ability to travel domestically up to 50% as needed; excitement to work onsite at Costa Mesa headquarters the majority of the time PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Familiarity with end-to-end RF integration with unmanned aerial systems • Hands-on experience with tactical radios
