ICEYE is seeking a Systems and Software Team Lead to own systems and software production and satellite-level testing for SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellites, from production integration through flight readiness verification.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians responsible for onboard software loading, validation, and checkout during production, as well as full satellite-level functional and end-to-end system checkout, including RF testing in the anechoic chamber. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend time on the production floor troubleshooting, unblocking issues, and improving processes while working alongside Integration and Mechanical team leads to keep satellite builds on schedule and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning systems and software production for SAR satellites, ensuring mission readiness from integration through launch
- Planning, coordinating, and executing satellite build stages across production
- Driving execution of system-level functional testing, verification, and acceptance for SAR flight units
- Owning onboard software loading, validation, and checkout during production and verification
- Maintaining configuration control, build discipline, and full traceability; ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards
- Managing technical risks, anomalies, and non-conformances through root cause analysis
- Defining and continuously improving scalable production workflows, test procedures, and checklists
- Leading, coaching, and growing a multidisciplinary team across systems and software
- Acting as the primary technical interface between AIT engineers, engineering, production, and mission operations
- Coordinating closely with Integration and Mechanical team leads to ensure unified, on-schedule satellite builds

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong leadership experience managing and guiding multidisciplinary teams of engineers and technicians
- Proven expertise in systems and/or software integration for complex hardware, ideally in satellite, aerospace, or similarly regulated high-reliability environments
- In-depth knowledge of onboard software, avionics, and payload systems and their interaction with satellite builds
- Comfort with software in test: flight software loading/validation, test automation, and scripting
- Strong background in root cause analysis, anomaly management, and non-conformance resolution
- Familiarity with satellite-level test methods, including exposure to RF/anechoic chamber testing (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, power meters)
- Excellent organizational and planning skills to coordinate across multiple technical disciplines and manage competing priorities
- Effective communication skills to convey technical updates to engineers, technicians, and senior management including C-level executives
