Isar Aerospace, a fast-growing New Space company, is seeking a Structures Analysis Engineer to support the development of launch vehicle structures from concept through qualification. You will be responsible for structural analysis of primary and secondary structures, guiding design decisions and optimizing performance and reliability. Key responsibilities include: - Perform detailed stress analysis of aerospace structures using classical hand calculations and advanced finite element methods (FEM), primarily for carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) structures - Identify failure scenarios and collaborate with design engineers to review and optimize structural designs - Define applicable load cases, including thermal and quasi-static loads from random vibrations - Analyze manufacturing non-conformities and provide solutions - Develop test plans and support physical testing to verify sizing assumptions and qualify hardware - Prepare comprehensive stress analysis reports and documentation for internal and external use - Improve structural verification standards and toolchain - Operate independently with moderate guidance The role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge space technology with a team of driven professionals at a venture-backed company disrupting the traditional aerospace industry. Requirements: - Degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, Computational Mechanics, or related field - Minimum 3 years of experience analyzing aerospace structures - Strong knowledge of classical hand-calculations and advanced FE modeling (Hypermesh, Optistruct, Nastran, or equivalent) - Self-motivated, collaborative, capable of working independently with moderate guidance - Good engineering intuition regarding load paths and failure mechanisms - Strong teamwork skills and ability to interact across departments - Fluent English Bonus qualifications: - Practical experience in space sector, preferably launch vehicle development - CAD experience, preferably Siemens NX - Understanding of composite structures behavior across temperature ranges - Material qualification and composite manufacturing experience - Experience with carbon fiber winding and draping (design or hands-on) - Knowledge of CFRP quality standards and specifications - German language skills
