Destinus is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to lead CAD design of aeronautical structures from concept through production support. You will work primarily in Siemens NX, designing flight structures, test jigs, fixtures, and production equipment needed to build and qualify aircraft components. You will own design packages end-to-end, collaborating closely with Stress, Propulsion, and Avionics engineering teams across the full development cycle—from early-stage R&D through detailed design, release, and production support. Key responsibilities include: - CAD design of aeronautical structures in Siemens NX: detailed part modeling, 2D drafting, and assembly modeling - Design of test jigs, fixtures, and production/support equipment for structural, functional, and qualification testing - Delivery of engineering calculations, analysis, and supporting documentation to substantiate design decisions - Production and maintenance of design documentation: drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and configuration records - Integration of structural, mechanical, and interface requirements from multiple engineering disciplines - Supplier and manufacturer management—addressing technical questions and resolving manufacturing issues - Participation in design reviews and technical discussions across all development phases - Mentoring of junior engineers and interns in mechanical design, manufacturing, and CAD - Ownership of design packages from concept through detailed design, release, and production support Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering; vocational training as a mechanical designer or drafter is advantageous - 3–5 years of industry experience in structural or mechanical CAD design - Proficiency in Siemens NX for part modeling, drafting, and assembly design - Solid working knowledge of GD&T and aerospace drawing standards - Experience designing for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA) - Ideally, experience across multiple development phases: design, build, integration, test, and operation - Familiarity with configuration management and design documentation practices - Ability to work to tight timescales both as part of an integrated, multidisciplinary team and autonomously - Background in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated hardware environment - Willingness to travel between Destinus sites in Switzerland (max. 20%) - Fluent in English; German or French is an advantage
