Oscar Health is seeking a Strategic Insights Senior Analyst, Data Analytics to join the Pharmacy Program Management team. This role partners across the organization to identify and manage business inefficiencies, supporting business units in scoping, analyzing, and monitoring performance of key financial and utilization metrics aligned with company goals.
The Senior Analyst works independently with stakeholders to define analytical questions and scope analyses, collaborating to reduce medical waste and deliver more affordable, higher-quality healthcare for Oscar's members. You will report to the Senior Director, Pharmacy Program Management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing data to support business teams in making informed, data-driven decisions
- Translating findings into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical colleagues
- Overseeing creation and maintenance of operational and analytical dashboards, evolving them as user needs change
- Creating models and tools to identify inefficiencies and generate actionable insights
- Collaborating across the organization to identify and monitor improvement initiatives
- Supporting strategic projects to meet business needs
The position is based in the Tempe, AZ office with a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days in-office per week. Thursdays are mandatory for team meetings and events; the other two office days are flexible.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of technical work experience using analytical tools and writing analytical reports
- 1+ years demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and distill analyses into relevant insights with structured, systematic thinking
- Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and partners around business reporting, demonstrated through at least 2 reporting projects requiring technical-to-non-technical communication
- Proficiency in SQL (filtering, aggregating, building CTEs) OR R/Python (including Pandas, for loops, statistical tests)
- Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel (VLookup, nested if statements, connected Sheets)
- 1+ years experience in healthcare, finance, or insurance industry
Bonus qualifications:
- 1+ years experience in healthcare analytics and reporting
- 1+ years experience managing value-based contracts at payer or provider organizations (ACO, CIN, MSO)
- 1+ years experience developing dashboards with Looker or other BI/data visualization tools
- Exposure to healthcare contract negotiations, risk adjustment, ACA marketplace, quality of care, or population health
