Salary: USD 101,844 - 133,670.25 / annual
Oscar Health is seeking a Strategic Insights Associate, Data Analytics to join the Pharmacy Program Management team. This role partners across the organization to identify and manage business inefficiencies proactively, supporting business units in scoping, analyzing, and monitoring key financial and utilization metrics.
The Associate will independently drive the scoping and execution of analytical requests, working with stakeholders to define key questions, scope methodologies, and deliver results. You will own insights generation and serve as the first point of contact for senior managers and associate directors, responsible for analyzing data to support better-informed, data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning insights generation and follow-up for a major business unit
- Analyzing data and translating findings into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical colleagues
- Packaging and presenting analysis in a clear, concise manner
- Enhancing operational and analytical dashboards as user needs evolve
- Creating models and tools to identify healthcare inefficiencies
- Collaborating across the organization and managing stakeholder relationships with managers and senior managers
- Supporting strategic projects as assigned
You will report to the Senior Director, Pharmacy Program Management. The position is based in the New York City office with a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days in-office per week, with Thursdays as a mandatory in-office day for team meetings and events.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of technical work experience using analytical tools and writing analytical reports
- 2+ years demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and distill analyses into relevant insights with structured, systematic thinking
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated by 5+ examples/projects of presenting analysis to Leadership (Director+)
- 2+ years experience in SQL (filtering, aggregating, building CTEs) OR proficiency in R or Python (including Pandas, for loops, and statistical tests)
- 1+ years experience with Google Sheets or Excel (VLookup, nested if statements, connected Sheets)
- 1+ years experience in healthcare, finance, or insurance industry
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years experience in healthcare analytics and reporting
- 2+ years managing value-based contracts at a payer or provider organization (ACO, CIN, MSO)
- 2+ years developing dashboards and working with Looker or other BI/data visualization tools
- Exposure to healthcare contract negotiations, risk adjustment, ACA marketplace, quality of care, or population health
