Nectar Social is an AI-native social commerce platform founded by ex-Meta leaders, backed by $30M+ in funding from GV and True Ventures. The company enables brands to build authentic community relationships and drive commerce through social interactions.
You'll be Nectar's first dedicated Strategic Finance & Operations Lead, reporting to the Head of Operations. This is a builder role focused on scaling the revenue operations function from its current state within a broader operations house into a dedicated, mature function.
Key Responsibilities:
Salesforce & GTM Systems: Serve as Salesforce administrator managing objects, flows, validation rules, reporting, and data hygiene. Own the full GTM tech stack (Salesforce, Pylon, Granola, Slack integrations) — evaluate, implement, integrate, and retire tools. Build and maintain integrations between sales systems and finance systems to ensure clean quote-to-cash data flow.
Forecasting & Pipeline: Own the weekly forecasting cadence including pipeline reviews, forecast rollups, and board-level reporting on bookings, pipeline coverage, and conversion. Maintain and evolve the forecast model against a non-standard fiscal calendar (FY Feb–Jan). Instrument the funnel from marketing through closed-won to track conversion, velocity, and drop-off by stage and segment.
Deal Desk & Pricing Operations: Run deal desk for enterprise and mid-market deals, managing order forms, pricing approvals, discount governance, and non-standard deal structures. Partner with Legal on contract workflows and operational machinery for order form drafting, approval, signing, and booking. Maintain pricing infrastructure including rate cards, calculators, and approval guardrails.
Compensation & Quota Administration: Administer commission plans for AEs and AI Strategists, including monthly/quarterly calculations, accruals with Finance, disputes, and documentation. Support annual quota setting, territory design, and comp plan iteration.
Marketing Ops (initially): Own lead routing, attribution basics, and campaign-to-pipeline reporting until a dedicated marketing ops hire is made. Keep marketing and sales data connected.
First 90 Days: Take over weekly forecast cadence immediately and Salesforce administration by end of quarter with zero disruption. Run a full quarter of commission calculations under the new FY27 plan. Ship one meaningful automation that removes manual work from quote-to-cash. Deliver a 12-month RevOps roadmap.
Requirements:
- 2–6 years of experience in one of two profiles: (a) hands-on revenue or sales operations at a B2B SaaS company that scaled through Series A/B, or (b) 2–3 years in management consulting, banking, or similarly rigorous analytical environment with clear evidence of deep systems work
- Systems aptitude and ability to master technical tools quickly and independently (Salesforce admin experience is a strong plus; demonstrated ability to build complex models, automate workflows, write SQL, or teach yourself platforms under deadline pressure is non-negotiable)
- Experience with money-related operations: commission administration, deal desk, billing handoffs, or quote-to-cash workflows
- Advanced Excel/Sheets proficiency; SQL and comfort using AI tools to automate work are strong pluses
- Structured thinking combined with scrappy execution; ability to do unglamorous work (data cleanup, order form QA) alongside strategic work
- High ownership and low ego; comfort with lack of delegation at a 60-person company
Nice to Have:
- Experience with usage-based or hybrid pricing models
- Commission tooling administration (CaptivateIQ, Spiff, QuotaPath) or building comp calcs from scratch
- CPQ implementation or evaluation exposure
- Familiarity with modern finance stacks (Rillet, NetSuite) and procurement portals (Coupa, Ariba)
- Prior "first ops hire" or founding-team experience
