Antares is building mass-producible, inherently safe, deployable microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications, with a mission to make clean energy abundant from Earth to the Asteroid Belt. The company has raised over $600M in venture capital and holds hundreds of millions in contracts with military services, NASA, and the Department of Energy.
You will join the Finance organization reporting directly to the Head of Finance, working on critical financial and strategic decisions. This is not a traditional FP&A role. Instead, you will span corporate finance, financial modeling, manufacturing economics, capital allocation, commercial and government programs, fundraising, and long-range planning. You'll translate complex technical and operational decisions into financial implications and provide leadership with analysis to support scaling decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and continuously improving Antares' long-range financial model (integrated income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and operating forecasts)
- Building financial models for major strategic decisions across manufacturing, reactor deployments, pricing, capital investment, and growth
- Developing reactor unit economics, cost curves, margin analysis, and production scaling models
- Evaluating government and commercial contracts for program economics, milestone structures, profitability, cash requirements, and return profiles
- Supporting annual planning, forecasting, cash management, runway analysis, and capital allocation
- Analyzing CapEx investments, manufacturing capacity, make-vs-buy decisions, and operational investments
- Building analyses and materials for the Board, investors, lenders, and strategic partners
- Supporting commercial strategy through pricing analysis, market sizing, customer economics, and project-level financial modeling
- Performing competitive, industry, and market analysis across advanced nuclear, energy, defense, and adjacent markets
- Developing reporting and decision-making tools for leadership visibility
- Taking on high-priority strategic projects for the Head of Finance and executive team

REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity/growth investing, strategic finance, corporate finance, or high-growth operating companies
- Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills with ability to build complex models from the ground up
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Investment banking experience strongly preferred; subsequent operating finance role experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation, corporate finance, and investment analysis
- Ability to take ambiguous business questions, structure the problem, perform analysis, and communicate clear recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present financial concepts to financial and non-financial audiences
- High attention to detail without losing sight of larger strategic questions
- Comfortable in fast-moving environment with changing priorities
- High proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
- Experience in aerospace & defense, energy, infrastructure, industrials, manufacturing, or hard-tech industry
- Experience with project finance, infrastructure finance, or complex capital-intensive businesses
- Experience evaluating government contracts or working with government customers
- Experience with manufacturing cost structures and unit economics
- Familiarity with energy markets, power generation, or nuclear energy

- Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary to support critical milestones
- ITAR compliance: Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
