Salary: USD 200,000 - 253,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company develops unmanned aerial systems (UAS) platforms including Anvil, Altius, and Ghost, powered by Lattice OS—an AI-powered operating system that converts thousands of data streams into real-time 3D command and control centers. In this Staff Systems Engineer role, you will lead the design and implementation of command and control (C2) networking capabilities for next-generation UAS platforms. Your focus will be on enabling resilient network design that supports unmanned aerial systems operating in remote environments with limited user input. You'll work at the intersection of networking, edge compute, and communications systems to ensure reliable autonomy and coordination across groups of assets. Key responsibilities include: - Enabling UAS C2 capabilities through resilient network design - Deriving system, subsystem, and component-level requirements - Designing, developing, and maintaining system components that meet functional and performance requirements in complex system environments - Conducting thorough testing and debugging to ensure reliability, scalability, and resilience of software applications in distributed systems contexts - Collaborating closely with hardware engineers and product managers to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components - Defining and documenting software engineering processes and practices, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements You will support the entire product lifecycle from engineering and product development through production and sustainment, leveraging simulation and rapid prototyping to drive complex design trades. REQUIREMENTS: - 12+ years of experience as a network engineer, demonstrating ability to execute complex engineering-level tasks independently and as part of a team - Expert-level knowledge of multicast protocols (IGMP, PIM) and unicast protocols (OSPF, BGP) - Experience with end-to-end testing of both unicast and multicast data flows - Experience with Quality of Service (QoS) and CBWFQ - Advanced knowledge of Linux-based operating systems - Hands-on experience with networking design, test, and operation of communications systems for Line of Sight (LOS) and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) - Proficiency in test script development using common languages (Python, Matlab, etc.) - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Must hold a U.S. Secret security clearance - Ability to travel domestically up to 50% as needed; excitement to work onsite at Costa Mesa headquarters the majority of the time PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Familiarity with end-to-end RF integration with unmanned aerial systems - Hands-on experience with tactical radios
