Anduril Industries is a defense technology company developing unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and AI-powered command and control platforms. In this Staff Systems Engineer role, you will lead end-to-end development of complex systems by collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements and system architecture. You'll design, develop, and maintain system components that meet functional and performance requirements in distributed, complex environments. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough testing and debugging to ensure reliability, scalability, and resilience; working closely with hardware engineers and product managers to integrate software and hardware seamlessly; and collaborating to define software engineering processes that meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
The role requires deep expertise in systems design, integration, and test across the full product lifecycle—from rapid prototyping and simulation-driven design trades to production and sustainment. You'll support development of platforms like Anvil, Altius, and Ghost, which operate in remote environments with limited user input, demanding high reliability and autonomous capability.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 12+ years of post-graduate industry experience in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or systems engineering
- Passion for systems design development, integration, and test
- Hands-on prototyping, troubleshooting, and build experience
- Experience developing automated test scripts and frameworks using common languages (Python, MATLAB, etc.)
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sincere commitment to positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture
- Must hold a U.S. Secret security clearance or higher
- Ability to travel up to 25% as needed for test planning and execution
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hands-on experience with complex robotic systems
- Familiarity with IP-based networks
- Experience with mission systems, including communications systems and components
- Familiarity with aviation airworthiness considerations
