Okta is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Technology Data and Intelligence (TDI) team in Bengaluru. TDI drives internal efficiency through secure, scalable, and innovative systems that support Okta's operations globally. This role focuses on designing and developing Salesforce customizations, configurations, integrations, and AI-powered solutions to meet strategic business objectives.
You will own the full delivery lifecycle from discovery through production deployment, designing secure, scalable solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flow, and platform configuration tools. Key responsibilities include translating business requirements into technical specifications, building integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs and event-driven patterns, and developing serverless solutions with Amazon Web Services Lambda and cloud-native services.
A significant focus of this role is building intelligent automation solutions using Python and AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, and Amazon Bedrock. You will design conversational workflows, internal copilots, and AI agents that improve employee productivity and customer support operations. Additional responsibilities include mentoring other engineers, taking on Delivery Lead roles for projects, creating and executing comprehensive test cases (unit, integration, functional, automation), supporting production deployments, and performing root-cause analysis of issues.
You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and engineers across the company, providing level-of-effort estimates and feasibility assessments for proposed solutions. The role reports to the Manager of Customer Experience, TDI, and requires strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience using Apex, Process Automation tools, and Lightning Web Components
- 7+ years of software development experience using Java, Python, or JavaScript
- Experience with Salesforce products (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Communities) with in-depth understanding of best practices, coding, and declarative frameworks
- Strong Python development experience for automation, integrations, and AI/ML workflows
- Experience designing cloud-native solutions using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, Step Functions, serverless architectures)
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI/LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Amazon Bedrock
- Familiarity with source control and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to manage and deliver full lifecycle Salesforce projects independently
- Deep understanding of developing secure solutions that protect sensitive data
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
PREFERRED:
- Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I/II, Service Cloud Consultant, etc.)
- Experience with Einstein Bots, predictive analytics, Agentforce, or other AI-powered Salesforce tools
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD practices for Salesforce
- Experience building multi-agent orchestration or workflow automation platforms
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or AI governance practices
- Experience improving support workflows and automation in customer service environments
- Background in high-growth, fast-paced technology companies
