Hinge Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Service Enablement team, which builds the platforms, services, and engineering practices that enable other teams to ship software safely and quickly. This is a hands-on Staff Engineer role where you will write production code, lead architecture and design reviews, participate in operational response, and mentor engineers across the organization. You will own multi-quarter technical roadmaps for one or more Service Enablement domains, focusing on what internal engineering teams actually need. Your work will span developer experience, cloud and service platforms, reliability, observability, security, CI/CD, and AI/ML enablement. You will lead architecture and design for highly available, secure, and maintainable platforms that cross pod boundaries, and build paved roads for service development, deployment, and operational ownership. Key responsibilities include improving developer productivity through automation and self-service workflows, setting practical standards for SLOs and incident response, working with product and engineering teams to run AI and ML workloads reliably and cost-efficiently, and de-risking ambiguous problems with prototypes and experiments. You will write and lead RFCs and design reviews, take part in production operations to eliminate recurring failure modes, and deliver large initiatives from strategy through production adoption while measuring results in platform adoption, developer productivity, reliability, and cost. You will mentor engineers, coach senior engineers into broader technical leadership, and help raise the bar for engineering practice across the organization. This role involves close collaboration with Engineering, Product, Security, Data, ML, and Infrastructure teams. The position is based in Bengaluru with regular interaction with colleagues in San Francisco, requiring openness to meetings in late evening IST (8:30pm–10:30pm) to align with Pacific Time. Hinge Health is an AI-powered healthcare platform focused on musculoskeletal (MSK) care, available to over 20 million people across 2,550+ employers. The company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Montreal and Bangalore.
