Airwallex is an AI-native financial operating system serving over 675,000 businesses globally, including McLaren Racing, Qantas, SHEIN, and TikTok. The company provides regulated financial infrastructure spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, with headquarters in San Francisco and Singapore and 2,300+ employees across 27 offices. As a Staff Software Engineer on the Ecosystem & Integration Platform team, you will lead the technical direction of Airwallex's ecosystem platform, which connects financial products with the software customers already use. You will work from the Singapore office five days a week and own the roadmap yourself, making decisions with incomplete information and moving quickly. The role requires connecting dots across functions while maintaining both big-picture vision and technical detail. REQUIREMENTS: Essentials: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field - 7+ years of experience developing internet applications, large financial systems, or e-commerce platforms - Strong programming or scripting skills in Java, Kotlin, C++, Python, or similar language - Deep familiarity with the standard library, idiomatic usage, and best practices of your primary programming language - Direct experience building or maintaining a public-facing developer platform, app marketplace, or extension framework - Experience designing scalable systems and making sound architectural decisions across complex technical domains - Track record of leading ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives from technical strategy through delivery Preferred: - Deep expertise in Domain-Driven Design and applying it to complex business logic and microservice boundaries - Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and advanced observability tools - Experience integrating AI or large language models to automate integration workflows or improve developer tooling
