Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company's Lattice OS is an AI-powered operating system that converts thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center.
Anduril Cyber is a new business line focused on positioning Anduril as a lead provider of offensive cyber mission capabilities. The Lattice for Cyber team is a founding team building core capabilities, experiences, and primitives that enable cyber products to operate reliably at scale, working from an unusually blank sheet of paper.
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Lattice for Cyber team, you will build core capabilities that offensive cyber programs rely on. You will solve diverse problems involving networking, autonomy, systems integration, robotics, and more while making pragmatic engineering tradeoffs. Your work ensures Anduril products seamlessly integrate to achieve critical outcomes. Clean interfaces, real documentation, and working examples are treated as core products, not afterthoughts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building highly-available and scalable services, data models, and APIs powering offensive cyber products such as command and control frameworks, autonomous cyber behavior trees, SIGINT analysis tools, and data exfiltration pipelines
- Integrating best-of-breed cyber tools and products into Lattice via custom SDKs or white-glove integrations
- Working directly with program teams and customers as they build real missions on your products
- Contributing to technical leadership, design clarity, and long-term maintainability across a growing software stack
- Designing distributed software systems that work reliably between the far edge and enterprise across degraded, intermittent, and contested networks
- Incorporating AI/LLM-enabled workflow features where they improve analyst or operator effectiveness without compromising system reliability
- Building SDKs and integrations allowing best-of-breed vendors to incorporate their software into the Lattice Cyber platform
- Contributing back to the Lattice software platform core to provide value across the entire company
The team operates with a "Whatever It Takes" mindset—executing in an expedient, scalable, and pragmatic way while keeping the mission top-of-mind and making sound engineering decisions to deliver successful outcomes on-time and with high quality. You will have the opportunity to work with customers to deploy your software.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production software
- Strong software engineering experience in one or more of C, C++, Python, Go, Rust, or modern TypeScript/React application development
- Ability to debug across the full stack, including logs, networking, interfaces, configuration, and hardware/software boundaries
- Practical experience with Linux and containerized deployment
- Comfort collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and translating ambiguous requirements into clean software interfaces
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reviews and architecture discussions
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Washington, DC or Orange County, CA metro areas
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time to support program teams and customer events
- US security clearance eligible
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hands-on offensive or defensive cyber background
- Exposure to AI/LLM integration patterns, inference workflows, tool orchestration, or model-assisted application features
- Front end experience in TypeScript and React (backend-leaning role, but generally work across the stack)
- Track record of technical leadership, productization work, or direct customer interface in complex engineering environments
- Prior work delivering into air-gapped or otherwise constrained deployment environments
- Active U.S. Security clearance
