ServiceNow is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (IC4 level) to join the Data Platform Engineering organization. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in a ServiceNow office; offices are located in San Francisco, Pleasanton, Santa Clara, San Diego (CA), and Kirkland (WA).
In this role, you will design, build, and operate cloud-native platform components and services, taking features from design through production. You will lead well-scoped projects within your team, translating requirements and rough ideas into solid technical designs and delivering them end-to-end. You'll collaborate with senior, staff, and principal engineers to ensure alignment with platform architecture and standards.
You will spend most of your time hands-on building operators, controllers, automation, and platform services that other teams depend on. You will contribute to the reliability, scalability, and operability of your work through testing, instrumentation, improved runbooks, and on-call participation. You will also help onboard and mentor junior engineers through code review, design feedback, and pairing.
