TaxBit, founded by CPAs, tax attorneys, and engineers, is a fast-growing fintech disruptor automating global tax reporting for the digital economy. The company's AI-enabled platform streamlines compliance for digital assets, payments, and financial transactions, trusted by leading fintechs, marketplaces, Big 4 accounting firms, and government agencies.
You will join the Systems, Security & Compliance organization as a Staff Software Engineer, taking ownership of the cloud infrastructure powering TaxBit's platform. As a technical leader, you will drive architecture, automation, and operational excellence of AWS systems that customers and internal teams depend on. You will shape and drive the AI (Dev)Ops strategy, defining how the company deploys, monitors, and operates AI-enabled systems responsibly and at scale. Key responsibilities include: designing and operating secure, highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS; owning infrastructure-as-code using AWS CDK or Terraform; building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub/GitHub Actions; defining and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies; architecting data storage and processing patterns for scalability and cost efficiency; implementing centralized logging, monitoring, and observability; maintaining security guardrails throughout the development lifecycle; building workflow automation to reduce manual toil; debugging and resolving complex distributed systems issues; implementing AI Ops/DevOps practices for production AI systems; and partnering cross-functionally with engineering, security, and compliance teams.
You will act as an enabler for other engineers, building platforms, tools, and guardrails that make it easier for teams to ship safely and quickly. The role requires a security-minded approach, strong sense of ownership, clear communication across teams, comfort with autonomy in a fast-paced environment, and pragmatic problem-solving that balances speed with reliability and security.
