Salary: USD 166,500 - 291,400 / annual
ServiceNow is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their AI-native platform team. In this role, you will build high-quality, scalable, and reusable code while enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes including code reviews and unit testing. You will partner with developers and product owners to understand requirements and own your code from design through implementation, test automation, and delivery of high-quality products to users.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing new products and features while enhancing the existing product suite
- Helping design software that is simple to use, allowing customers to extend and customize functionality to meet their specific needs
- Partnering across teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
- Mentoring and guiding engineering practices across the organization

REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or NodeJS
- Passion for learning and applying AI to solve developer needs
- Strong passion for writing code in Java and leveraging the web as a platform, with focus on reusability and componentization
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
- Experience with modern UI frameworks like React
- Strong analytical and design skills
- Working knowledge and ability to use development tools (IDE, debugger, build tools, source control, ServiceNow instances, profilers, system administration/Unix tools)
- Experience leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving
- Experience with AI productivity tools such as Windsurf or Cursor is a plus
