Onebrief is a $2B+ defense technology company building AI-powered collaboration and workflow software for military planning and operational coordination. Founded in 2019 and backed by leading investors including General Catalyst, Battery Ventures, and Sapphire Ventures, the company helps military teams coordinate information, people, and decisions across systems and locations. You will serve as a Staff Site Reliability Engineer supporting Onebrief deployments across on-premises hardware, virtualized systems, and cloud environments. This is a hands-on infrastructure role focused on Linux administration, hardware maintenance, and application reliability. You will manage Linux servers, NVIDIA DGX Spark or similar AI computing systems, rack-mounted equipment, and the applications running on them, while also supporting workloads deployed on virtual machines, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure. Your primary responsibility is keeping these environments operational and maintaining a 99.5% application availability target. You will troubleshoot production issues, perform routine maintenance, and work with engineering teams to improve system reliability. You will work primarily on-site with military customers in Wiesbaden, Germany, alongside Onebrief Outcome Engineers, Mission Success, GRC, and Infrastructure teams. Some environments have limited connectivity or operate on air-gapped networks, requiring practical troubleshooting skills and careful planning for maintenance and deployments. Key responsibilities include: maintaining Linux systems and hardware through installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting; operating production applications across Linux, virtual machines, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure; maintaining application availability toward the 99.5% uptime target; responding to incidents by diagnosing failures and coordinating escalations; and improving operations through automation using scripting and configuration management tools. You have a strong background in Linux systems administration and experience supporting production applications. You are comfortable working directly with server hardware, troubleshooting operating system issues, and diagnosing application failures. You understand how infrastructure problems affect the software running on it and know how to narrow down the cause of an outage. You take responsibility for the systems you maintain, communicate clearly when problems arise, can work independently at a customer site while collaborating with remote engineering teams, and value good documentation, practical automation, and fixing recurring problems. Relocation assistance is available for this role.
