Salary: CAD 190,500 - 262,000 / annual
Faire is a technology wholesale platform connecting independent retailers globally with suppliers and brands. The Brand pillar mission is to help brands create high-quality product listings on Faire, maintain them, and reach retailers effectively—enabling Main Street retailers to compete with big-box stores.
As a Staff Product Engineer on the Brand pillar, you will be a technical leader responsible for helping teams execute on complex features, coaching and mentoring engineers, and collaborating with product, design, and data teams to achieve the pillar's mission. You'll work at the pillar level, supporting different teams across quarters as priorities shift, contributing to both short-term execution and long-term strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and marketing to drive business and platform success
- Identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities, overseeing complex multi-phase projects across multiple teams and platforms from concept to implementation
- Building features across multiple stacks (Backend, Frontend, Mobile)
- Optimizing web applications for peak performance and scalability, ensuring high-quality, fast, and scalable code
- Mentoring fellow engineers on both technical and product judgment

Hybrid employees work in-office 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a flex day) with flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Proficiency in at least one of Java, Kotlin, or JavaScript
- Comfortable with agentic coding tools
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and frameworks/libraries like React, Next.js
- Experience driving product improvements end-to-end, including identifying problems worth solving and determining solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience
- Strong passion for technology and curiosity about new tools to solve real problems
