Clio, a global leader in legal AI technology, is seeking a Staff Product Designer to join the newly formed Judiciary team. This is a zero-to-one product opportunity focused on building technology specifically for judges and clerks in the age of AI. The role reports to a team led by the former Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court.
You will lead end-to-end experience design across a complex, emerging product area with little precedent. Your responsibilities include partnering with Product and Engineering leaders to define experience strategy and success metrics; building deep customer intuition around judicial workflows and constraints; leading design across multi-surface journeys from discovery through launch and iteration; shaping a long-term experience vision for the judiciary space; raising quality standards across the product ecosystem; driving consistency through design systems and patterns; facilitating cross-functional collaboration to navigate ambiguity; and mentoring other designers.
This role requires designing AI-powered experiences that prioritize judicial independence, impartiality, transparency, security, and the integrity of judicial decision-making. You'll work with a small, focused team in an entrepreneurial environment where you'll need to imagine what doesn't yet exist and translate complex requirements into clear, durable design decisions.
The position is available across Canada (excluding Quebec) and the US. If located near Clio's hubs in Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto, you'll be expected to work in-office a minimum of twice per week on designated Anchor Days.
